First, set your mobile to T9 mode. If your phone has a text messaging menu, look for it there under names like “Predictive Text”, “Dictionary”, or “T9 Word”. It should also be one of the options that you cycle through when you switch from regular typing mode to numbers or symbols while typing a message.
Use only one key press per letter.
Ignore any words displayed on the screen until you have finished entering your current word. Since T9 tries to find matches with every key press, the displayed word can change along the way. Usually you’ll see the word you want by the time you’ve spelled it out.
If you’ve spelled the word you want, yet T9 is displaying a different one, scroll through your possible matches. Your mobile has a key which can change from make to make. Explore for the right key on your phone! It is often the down toggle key, though can be the #, *, +, or “0” (zero) keys.
If you’ve written out the word and it’s not in the dictionary, spell the word out and add it to your private list. The word will be there the next time you use it.
Punctuate wisely. Press the '1' key whenever you want to add
punctuation like an apostrophe or a period.
If you want to enter numbers, press the appropriate key for a long period until the number appears.
